Breakups… *insert long sigh*
We’ve all been through them and the easiest way to put it is that they suck. No matter how you spin it or try to have your glass half full… they suck. Time really is the only thing that will help a break up pass, but there are a couple of things you can do to make that time go by a bit easier and get over him a bit faster! Here are a couple of tips to help you through your break up…
1. Get A Makeover
Ok I’m going to be honest, this is as much for you as it is for “him” (leave it as him, don’t you dare speak his name. He is now “him” to you). Getting a makeover is a great way to boost your confidence and be a little catty without it being too obvious! You look better than ever and he has to deal with that
2. Girl Time!
There’s not much that a few margaritas or glasses of wine along with a great convo with your girlfriends can’t fix.
3. Talk it Out
Talking and venting is healthy. If you don’t really want to tell anyone your business (quite understandable) there are so many other choices. You can start a journal, an online secure diary, or even create a blog under a random surname and tell the world without anyone knowing it’s you!!
I know not the advice you were thinking. But I don’t mean it in a bad way. Just go on a date with someone. Have dinner or something innocent just to remind you that there are plenty of fish in the sea, and your ex is a krill!
5. Get Away
Take your bff, sister, or mom and get away for a little bit. Go on a vacation and get your mind off of what’s at home. That way you can come back home with a clear head, and the things that seemed so important that were really irrelevant with wither away!
6. Throw it all away
Don’t keep any of his little love letters and things that he gave you. Coming across those randomly can be detrimental to your progress and set you back weeks! (Except for all of the designer stuff you have.. YOU KEEP THAT!! Then proceed to use it to catch a new guys attention!)
Music is really the best therapy! Chances are no matter what you’re going through there’s an artist that made a song about it! My personal favorite would be Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats” ****WARNING: Live vicariously through that song. Just yell along with the lyrics pretending you’re doing all she’s saying. Don’t actually try it.. you will end up in jail!
And when all else fails just remember…
